On Display @ PCA – Drawings by Susan Patrick

Susan Patrick PCA is pleased to display the drawings of local artist Susan Patrick in our office for the month of June. Patrick is a resident of Albemarle County, an associate member of McGuffey Art Center and an art teacher for 42 years. She is a mark maker and painter thinking about unity, variety, and balance.

On display are thirteen drawings that Patrick has never exhibited before. She describes them in this way: “Found objects are abstracted to non-objectivity in mixed media – graphite and india ink drawn, erased, and smudged.” Upon closer inspection, the viewer can discover semblances of the twigs, leaves, and other nature materials that served as inspiration for these drawings.

Read about (and see pictures of) a recent mural that Susan Patrick collaborated on with guests at The Haven, a day shelter for the homeless.

To purchase a drawing, please contact the artist at patricksl@prodigy.net.

Please stop by the PCA office inside CitySpace to say hello and check out the art! We are open to the public Monday-Friday from 10am to 5pm.

Would you like your artwork to be on display here? PCA manages this small exhibit area in our office to celebrate PCA member artists and other local artists. Submission of visual art is encouraged and exhibits will change on a monthly basis. If you are interested in having your artwork displayed, please contact info@charlottesvillearts.org.
